Visiting the Prominent Attractions in Marrakech
Mar 28th, 2007 by Rcon Franchesca Pascua

I cannot really contain my nervousness and excitement when I first came to Morocco’s Marrakech city. I was excited and nervous because the trip was actually once a dream vacation for me. So when I finally settled inside my hotel room, I promised myself that I would visit all the famed attractions in Marrakech and enjoy every minute of my stay in the city.
The first place in Marrakech that I visited was the Medina’s Koutoubia Mosque, which was the biggest and foremost mosque in the city. I was so captivated by its enormous minaret, that I actually stood outside the architecture for 10 minutes just admiring its enigmatic decorations. And as I scouted the way to Jema El Fna Square, I saw a native snake charmer. I am not really a big fan of snakes, so the show was actually an amusing sight for me. What I also found interesting in the city square were the local traditional physicians who were offering ancient medicinal remedies to foreigners. Aside from these unusual attractions, I also found local musicians and dancers in the acclaimed Marrakech square. Fortune tellers and henna artists were also seen there, fondly entertaining travelers and locals alike. All these and more were the attractions in Marrakech that I was so fortunate to see and experience.
