Rick’s Cafe in Casablanca: Figment of Imagination No More

I know I travel a lot, but I sure do take my love for classic movies wherever I go. Actually, that is one reason why I decided to stay in Casablanca, a place immortalized by the movie of the same title. The 1942 movie Casablanca was starred by Hollywood legends Humphrey Bogart and Ingrid Bergman. The famous film won the Oscars for the Best Director, Best Screenplay, and Best Picture in the 1942 Academy Awards.

However, don’t expect traces of Bogart and Bergman in the city of Casablanca. Why? I know this will sound really disappointing for the Casablanca movie fans out there, but the film was entirely shot in Burbank, Hollywood. But wait, do not get disheartened yet! Located at the edge of Casablanca’s old medina district stands the Rick’s Cafe, where Bogart ’s character, Rick, uttered the famous lines “Here’s looking at you, kid.” Former US diplomat turned-entrepreneur Kathy Kriger is the person responsible for turning the fictional Rick’s Cafe into an actual cafeteria in Casablanca. If you are craving for delectable American, French, and Moroccan cuisines, then you should definitely not miss Rick’s Cafe in Casablanca.
The mouthwatering Mechoui and Filet Mignon con Poivre that come with rich, piquant sauce that I tasted at Rick’s Cafe in Casablanca made me forget about my plans of going to other city attractions for that day. Instead, I ordered a take out meal of the other specialties of the house that I could share to my travel buddy back at our hotel room.
