Marrakech Food Specialties

When I travel, one of the things I enjoy doing most is to have a taste of the country’s culinary specialties. In the case of my first trip to Morroco’s finest Marrakech city, I was definitely more than satisfied. On my first night in Marrakech, I enjoyed a long walk around the city, and I came upon a number of promising local restaurants and bistros. I’m not really a vegetarian gal, but I decided to try out the inviting, local vegetarian Marrakech food offered at the lively and cozy walls of Djemaa al Fna.
As I was ushered in my seat, I scanned the menu, and I was surprised at how reasonable the meal prices were. The dinner’s first course consisted of an olive dish filled with scrumptious sauce. The second course was actually the best part of the meal, a plate filled with different veggie variations of eggplant, carrots, chickpeas, squash, and stuffed, powdered sugar tostada. My stomach was never been stuffed with delicious and healthy Moroccan-style veggie dishes. Tasting the local vegetarian specialties of the city was truly a fine dining experience for me, which was even heightened by the soothing traditional Moroccan music playing in the restaurant. The palatable, local Marrakech food made my first trip to the city all the more memorable.
